Sparkling Teal Glass Sun Chime with Ghana Africa Beads - Hanging Garden Decor

$64.00

Elevate your garden oasis with this sparkling teal glass sun catcher and wind chime made with beautiful handmade glass beads from the Krobo tribe in Ghana. This piece adds amazing, calming color to your space combined with a soothing ambiance. Handcrafted in my home studio.

❁ Ghana African beads are irregularly shaped, roughly 1" X 3/4", translucent aqua, look like sea glass, each chime includes 16 African beads
❁ Smaller beads are 3/8" clear glass and 3/8" faceted light aqua glass
❁ Stainless steel beading wire is 49-strand, extra strong and corrosion-resistant, covered with beads
❁ Fused glass pieces are made of "Stardust" glass - sparkling teal green with clear - fused in my home kiln, each glass piece is 6"X1"X1/4"
❁ Nickel-Chromium wire is permanently fused into the glass
❁ The glass design will vary from what is shown in the photos as each chime is one of a kind
❁ Hanging length from the middle of the wire to the bottom of the glass is 30" to 32"

The Krobo people in Ghana, West Africa made these amazing beads using recycled glass. They collect and hand-grind the glass, then melt and form it into beads in earthen kilns.

A note about colors - different monitors display colors differently and, especially with glass, the color can look totally different in different light. If color is critical, please message me.

FAQ

What is the best way to hang a Cinjo wind chime?

The wind chimes are a simple design - one long wire covered in beads with glass pieces at each end. The middle of the wire is draped over a nail or hook or from a small tree branch. The glass pieces clink together to create a subtle sound while the beads reflect the sunlight.  You want the pieces of glass to be close enough to generate the sound.

Do the glass wind chimes break?

Glass items are fragile and can break. Please handle with care. Try to avoid hanging wind chimes very close to stationary objects that could be hit by the glass and cause breakage. A protected area is best. However, fused glass is very strong and can hold up to most situations without breaking or chipping if hung with room to move in wind.

Do you use recycled packaging?

While our first priority is to ensure your order arrives undamaged, we do use recycled boxes and packaging materials whenever possible. If you would prefer we not do this, please let us know.

What is "fused glass"?

Fused glass is glass that has been heat formed in a kiln. Also known as "warm glass" or "kiln-formed glass".
